Two Whole Years

Happy Knitting Aniversery to me. I have now been knitting two whole years. With no end in sight. But as you can see dearies, I have some what abandoned blogging about knitting. Well one never knows, I might start up again. I just taught myself the magic loop method and am planning on knitting socks. I have already been stashing away sock yarn just for the occasion. He He.

And I went to an Alpaca farm not too long ago. And I just bought some yarn to make myself a scrumptous sweater from the fall issue of Interweave Knits. And I ordered some sport weight Lorna's Laces in Black Purl. I have been waiting for it since July. Argggggggh. But soon. I hope. Yummy yarn. :)

Oh and the yarn store I work at will be closing! :( A sad sad day. But now I will have to check out the other yarn stores in the area. Alas no discount. :( But I will manage. I mean I have enough yarn to probably last me a whole year. It's not like I knit super fast or anything. Oh and I ordered the Peacock feathers shawl pattern from Fiddlesticks. I have been totally dying to have that pattern forever. And now it is on it's way to my house. Lucky Lucky me.

Well ta ta for now lovies. Happy Knitting.

Sorry to hear about your yarn shop closing! I too have some stockpiled sock yarn in the idea that one day soon I'll learn how to make socks!

You commented on my blog about the knitpicks shine, so here's what I thought about it. It is wonderfully soft. However, it has a tendency to split a lot. Before blocking it looks rather lumpy and every little change in tension is visible. After blocking everything smooths out wonderfully. If you decide to use it, you MUST do a guage swatch and WASH it the way that you would the final object! I've noticed that a lot of people have said the shine shrunk, for me it did not. I think it depends on how you wash it (I washed on gentle cycle with cold water wash and rinse, stuck it in the dryer until not quite all the way dry). I cannot say yet how well the shine wears, but overall I like the shine and definately will use it again.
